A HIDDEN LIFE Official Trailer (2019) Terrence Malick Movie HD

I wish I'd not watched the last 20 minutes. And yes, the wife has to be one of the most annoying characters ever conceived.

She was so irritating that I've already blocked her name from my memory, and I just saw the film 2 days ago. I think it's really touching that these two love birds finally found each other again, whilst Henry bled out at their feet.

You'd think they'd freak out and call an ambulance, considering that they know he's a human being. I guess love does conquer all. You'd think so. This was quite an intriguing watch, all the way up to the last 10 minutes when the plot twist came.

I don't want to say what it was, but I will say it is completely without logic and just made me think, 'are they having a laugh?

With a little refinement this low-budget sexy sci-fi movie could have been seriously gripping and ultimately shocking. The central premise about interactions between humans and robots is intriguing and thought-provoking.

It's offers some creepily sensual scenarios. The leads are good - especially Steven Strait as the robot, Henry. And it delivers some strong surprise twists toward the end.

It's just a shame that the story is undermined by a sluggish start and a particularly annoying characterisation of the wife, Sofie, who is infuriatingly unlikeable.

For the most part, however, it's quite well written - although the final plot twists needed more finessing. Still, worth a look.

Life Like asks the same question all people ask themselves but it does so, from a different perspective. This is a thoughtful, intriguing little film, that reminds us rather subtly of how we take what and who we are, very much for granted.

Acting is decent and the main character Henry is portrayed with a calm, endearing charm that keeps you watching.

There's an interesting twist in the end too I did not see coming. The ending was so cringy "we named our kid after the robot I forgot his name already, that's how insignificant he felt because he added so much to our lives".

When we first meet James and Sophie in the new film "Life Like" they are standing on a street corner, about to carry a discarded chair up to their apartment.

Sophie is all about giving this piece of furniture a second life. Later that evening, the couple gets their own second life: James' wealthy father has passed away.

The news prompts the couple to move into the mansion in which James spent his childhood, and James steps into his father's sizeable shoes at the office.

The new life is a tough fit for Sophie as well. She feels guilty about having servants, and ends up dismissing them - although, in Sophie's mind, it is more like setting them free.

When James learns of this, he explains that a home their size does not just run on its own has she not seen Downton Abbey?

Like it or not, they need help. James' colleague from work lets James in on a little secret. Before his death, James' father had been approached by a man looking for investors in his company which manufactures artificial intelligence robots.

The script never bothers to give this company a name such as "Evil Inc. Sophie doesn't want another female under her roof, because, she admits, she wants to be the prettiest girl in the room a comment that is absolutely in line with her character.

Strait's Henry walks the halls of the couple's mansion like a modern Hal computer, but one designed by Apple: he's sleek, sexy and eager to please.

What's not to like? Well, just like the Hal, there is something unsettling about him, perhaps even menacing.

How close to human is James? He cooks meals, plays racquetball, and analyzes "Great Expectations. But what about emotions? Does he feel intimacy, Sophie asks.

She does, so he does. Is he ever afraid? He experiences something close to fear, he admits. One of his greatest concerns is that is owners will see him as obsolete and replace him.

Anyone out there afraid their spouse or partner might leave them? Anybody feel as though their "intimate" relationship doesn't feel all that intimate?

I thought so. The more intriguing relationship is the one that develops between James and Henry. When Henry walks in on James naked after a shower, James instinctively reaches for a towel.

The something shifts. Unlike Sophie, James is less troubled by any questions of the line between human being and sexy robot. To James, Henry is the same as his electric razor- he is a tool actually, James is the real tool, but I digress.

This idea gets upended a bit later, in what is the film's best scene, and one that may launch more than a few online Henry and James romantic pairing "ships," if this film ever finds a wider audience.

The film has some problems. The film's low budget occasionally gets in the way the movie feels strangely underpopulated. It's unclear what sort of business James' father was in, or what kind of man he was.

Does Sophie work? Neither James nor Sophie thinks to google information about Julian, the man who runs the robot program. Watching James and Sophie sorting out the mystery of these lifelike robots might have given the story a nice bit of suspense.

The film does not quite build to its ending. There is also a weak link or two in the acting department. But the film is worth a look for Strait's performance, and some of the interesting questions that it raises.

Overall an original and striking film. There are certain scenes where the script is brilliant and it is a film that really makes some interesting points.

Flow is good, though some bits seem stilted Despite this, the main actors are good and the twist is excellent and unexpected.

I wish they had done the build up and reveal better, and not had much film after the twist was revealed as it would have had greater impact.

But anyway, worth the watch. While the premise of the film doesn't hold up to too much scrutiny; on the surface it is a worthwhile attempt to highlight and make us question our ideas regarding innocence, learned behavior, and the selfish nature of interpersonal relationships.

I can't help but wonder how the movie would have played out if she had cared about anyone but herself. Even with events as they played out, her husband would be MUCH BETTER OFF finding a partner that actually cares about him and supports him rather than this self-obsessed nightmare, who acts on her impulses with no regard to reality and expects him to clean up her mess every time.

Obviously low budget, this is still a fascinating film that isn't loaded with action, but is well written enough to draw you in and keep it interesting as you wonder where the story is taking you.

Another film about life-like artificial intelligence and human-like robots, Steven Strait is fantastic as Henry, a very handsome and well built machine, but the performances from his fellow actors are a bit uneven.

Uneven too, are some of the twists in the plot, the movie can play it rather tame for , but there are times when this movie very much soars and all of those scenes revolve around Henry.

I found some of the twists a bit disappointing and by the end I think the film takes a dive and kind of cops out but overall it's a must watch if you liked Ex-Machina or A.

Charming couple who wife facing an issue cannot resist the charming robot and the robot is flirting back to the wife. His husband discussed with the robot calming "not to flirt".

Then robot all naked and make a move to the husband. The filmmaker totally take into consideration the market of straight, bisexual and gay audience.

Bravo Henry! Ok but very far away from logic and reality. Just a garbage fire of a movie, it never made sense from start to finish.

A young recently made wealthy couple decide to purchase an android robot because they're not the type of people who have servants.

They get the robot and eventually start to bond with it and jealousy and fighting ensues before a totally impossible to explain plot twist happens and flips the whole thing on its head.

Who's missing their iPhone and 4th grader? I found both Not mind altering but takes a lot to hold my interest.. Sure it's got lag, but that's what makes it special.

Just when you think it's trying to be the next Ex-Machina teaching you about life and love, relationships and humanity the second half makes good on the misdirection from the first.

I really liked this and I'll be scouting out this directors other films as he's obviously underrated to spit this out to -On Demand- with no big announcement.

The chatter has started and I'm leading with a big ol' "watch this" it's not going to blow your mind but it certainly has its merits.

LIFE - Official Trailer #2 (HD) Der S04tv ist gut besetzt, tolle Schauspieler Got Serie auch nicht billig, im Gegenteil. Quite Berrit Arnold, although there were certainly some Juni The acting was fine. Plot Keywords. Jon Ekstrand. There was a problem filtering reviews right now. I hated this movie! Cam Gigandet. The effects and CGI are really brilliant as the story unfolds, well worth a watch. Gratis Clips characters are moving around in tight quarters in zero g trying to fight a creature that is seriously bad ass both in its ability to move around, and in the environments in Unterwegs In Thüringen it can survive. Der Film kam am I was cringing at his scenes - he probably wanted it to be over.

Written by ElDiomedes. Mankind is on the verge of a major milestone. The "Pilgrim" probe is returning from Mars containing soil samples that might spell the discovery of the first palpable evidence of life beyond earth.

Proving that earth scientists are not completely incompetent, the probe is being returned not to earth but to a lab on the International Space Station where strict quarantine can be maintained.

Needless to say, the soil samples yield more promise than Derry could have ever hoped for or North could have feared.

A crisis of growth and death ensues in a manner that fans of "Alien" will be suitably familiar with. Can the crew survive against all the odds?

Jake Gyllenhaal is one of my favourite actors with a raft of quality films in his CV such as "Nightcrawler" and last year's hugely underrated and almost Oscar-ignored "Nocturnal Animals".

Rebecca Ferguson is also a class act and one of my favourite actresses of the moment. Here they are starring together for the first time and they don't disappoint.

Whilst neither gets enough quality screen time to really hammer their roles home, both connect to the audience in different ways: Harris is heading for an ISS endurance record, and starting to mentally disconnect from earthly connections as his body also starts to atrophy.

North, with a clear attraction to him, tries to hold both him and everything together with steely determination, while carrying more knowledge of the mission directives than anyone else has.

The supporting ensemble cast also work well, portraying a real mixture of nationalities from the cock-sure American played by Reynolds to the sultry Russian commander Golovkina, played by the lovely Olga Dihovichnaya.

A special note should also be added in the margin for one of the most surprising portrayals of a disabled character in a recent film.

Unfortunately the material the actors get to deliver, by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick co-writers of "Deadpool" and "Zombieland" doesn't match their ability.

The first 30 minutes or so of the film I found to be totally gripping, but even here some of the dialogue is sufficiently clunky to distract you from the ongoing narrative.

Some of the rest of the dialogue becomes head-in-the-hands awful in places: a scene during a de-pressurization episode being particularly painful.

Some dodgy dialogue might be forgivable in an action movie if supported by a strong story. Unfortunately, while the premise of the film is sound if not original , the story leaps from inconsistency to inconsistency from beginning to end.

The writers never seem to settle on whether the 'being' needs oxygen, likes oxygen, likes hot, likes cold, etc.

While the screenplay delivers some seriously suspenseful moments, and some decent jump scares, this is not satisfactory enough to serve up a cohesive movie meal.

This is not helped by 'bad science'. As I have commented upon before, I'm a physicist by training and unscientific scenes annoy me to distraction.

I've had to learn to live with the basics of explosions and other 'noise' in space something "Star Wars" started 40 years ago, damn those TIE fighters.

But there is a scene in "Life" involving an airlock breach that just completely beggars belief, acted out as it is like a stiff breeze on the front at Skegness!

It's almost — almost — as bonkers as the 'reactor venting' scene with Chris Pratt in "Passengers". However, the film has its strong points too.

Like "Gravity", this is another special effects triumph with the scenes outside the ISS being gorgeously rendered. A key question though is why there wasn't a 3D version of the film released?

Heaven knows I'm no fan of 3D, but "Gravity" was one of the few films that was genuinely enhanced by the format: in fact it is currently the only 3D Blu-ray that I own!

In general, the whole film seems a little half-cocked and lacking in its own conviction. You wonder whether the production company Skydance got rather cold-feet about the film in releasing it when it did.

Yes, "Deadpool" did very well with its February release, but this is a much more suitable film for a summer audience than a release in this post-Oscars doldrums.

In summary, its a moderately entertaining watch, but at heart just another retelling of the old 'something nasty in the woodshed' yarn that we've seen played out countless times before.

Here though the swanky setting and special effects are diminished by a lack of credibility and consistency in the storytelling.

The chatter has started and I'm leading with a big ol' "watch this" it's not going to blow your mind but it certainly has its merits.

Life Like is something different from other robot films. It's something new and something different and also something very boring.

But I kind of don't like robot films and boring movies, so, I'd say I don't like it that much. When I watched this film, I didn't watch the trailer first.

After I watched it, I saw the trailer on YouTube. The trailer is such a great one. The trailer maker has magic hands. If I've watched the trailer first, I think I'd be so eager to watch the film.

I'd be more excited and I'd be more disappointed when the film's finished. Actually, I expected something more than this.

But when the film is finished, I was really disappointed. The film is quite boring. But I kept watching to see how the film was going to end.

All I could see was another film of having affairs. What was different this time was that with a robot. Well, that was what they thought.

What I don't like that that damned scene of Henry drank a glass of wine and Sofie didn't notice what was wrong with it. I mean even me, I could sense the odd.

When I saw that scene, I really had a thought that how the hell a robot could drink wine? That doesn't make any sense.

Later, at the end of that scene, they showed the robots people think weren't robots. They were human beings.

Finally, it kind of makes sense for this fact. The other fact I also don't like is about Sofie. Her character is totally unlikeable.

I feel like James married the wrong girl. She's a kind of girl who wants her husband to be with her all day without doing any work.

No man can do that because people need to work to get money. Especially, man. Men are responsible for their families.

If they don't do works, they won't have any money. Without money, how in the world can they get a place to live in, have nice foods and etc.

And also I hate that kind of people who kicks out other people because they want to be alone with their love ones. All those things I hate are on Sofie.

That's why I don't like her character. One good thing about this film is the acting. Especially, Henry.

He really looked like robot as he thought he was. Calm and charming. I totally love his acting. Henry's death scene is kind of sad.

I cried. So, all in all, the contents are just at the acceptable level. If the director could make the film less boring, it'd be better than this.
